All of my short screenplays are available to be produced at low or no fee. Even with the screenplays that have been previously produced, I have retained all rights and can extend them without restriction.
Mother’s Day
Drama, 6:56 minutes
Directed by: David Eagle
Written by: James Tuverson
Alex (Grant McLellen) painstakingly prepares a breakfast-in-bed tray as only a 9-year-old can. But for Alex and his family, Mother’s Day means something different. A sweet, poignant drama.
NOTEWORTHY: “Mother’s Day” was directed by Emmy Award-winning director David Eagle, the second short film that David and I produced together.
Hours Before
Drama, 16:43 minutes
Directed by: Joel David Moore
Written by: James Tuverson
Unraveled teenager Max (Jarod Einsohn) holds his best friend Peter (Stuart Lafferty) hostage the night before he plans a murderous assault on their high school. Desperately wanting his best friend’s company—yet afraid of having his meticulous plans ruined, or of Peter getting hurt in the imminent carnage— Max handcuffs Peter to a pipe in his garage, forcing him to stay while Max plans his deadly errand.
NOTEWORTHY: Director Joel David Moore is a well-known character actor who played Dr. Norm Spelman in Cameron’s “Avatar”, as well as regular roles on TV’s “Bones”, “The Medium” and “Forever”. And let’s not forget “Shark Night 3D”! This film was shot on a RED camera, so its production value is amazing. BTW, my feature screenplay “The Hours Before” is a longer treatment of this story, with a very different ending.

Heart Says It All

An expose’ on what really happens when you get on the wrong side of those chalky little candy hearts with the cute sayings on them. Told sans dialogue, this is a tale of love gone wrong and the steps those innocent-looking confections will take to dole out sweet vengeance With Ali Eagle and Matthew McCollum.
Sanning Eller Död (Truth or Die)
Drama, 10:11 minutes
Directed by: Tom Grejs
Written by: James Tuverson
Two teenagers find themselves on a steep cliff overlooking the Swedish mountainside. They play a game, Truth or Lie, to determine the circumstances that brought both to the precipice. As the truth is revealed, the games changes from Truth or Lie… to Truth or Die. In Swedish, with English subtitles.
NOTEWORTHY: My first foreign-language film, “Sanning Eller Död” (“Truth or Die”) was filmed in Sweden… a thrilling accomplishment! While director Tom Grejs did a beautiful job visually, my original story was completely lost in his interpretation. Since this is one of my favorite short scripts, I’m including it here in hopes that someday I can re-produce this film locally.

Let Us Prey
The short screenplay for this is a FINALIST in the 2025 HollyShorts Screenplay Competition!
Drama, 9:12 minutes
Directed by: Matt Brewer
Written by: James Tuverson
Three very different men confront themselves and each other during a grueling group-therapy session. What draws these men together is shame — each was a victim of child sexual abuse, perpetrated by someone in their lives whom they should have been able to trust the most. One man, however, will discover his greatest struggle is within. If he loses the battle between his morals and urges, he may become the Devil himself.
NOTEWORTHY: This is a multiple award-winning short screenplay. I can barely watch this version of “Let Us Prey”, but I’ve included it to hopefully inspire others who check out the script to do a better job. Please read the script before you watch the film.
