Hi everybody!
Today I am going to talk to you about a new software product I’m trying out called Dragon Naturally Speaking 10.1. It’s published by Nuance. I’ve been following the Dragon Naturall ySpeaking products for years and years, because I’ve always wanted to be able to just talk into my computer and have my screenplays print out the other end. At least that’s what I’ve always thought I wanted. In pretty much every version since Dragon NaturallySpeaking 1 .0, I have ended up installing the product on my computer, trying for about two weeks to get it to work the way I want it to, and I always end up uninstalling it (until the next upgrade comes out, when I go through the cycle all over again.) Finally, after 10 versions and the capability to utilize 64-bit systems, Dragon NaturallySpeaking has arrived. Just make sure you get the 10.1 upgrade if you’re installing n a 64-bit system.) While I admit it is still a little troublesome getting it to format the script the way I want them to be, it does a pretty good job of getting down my spoken word without too many screw ups. I’m using it right now, so I guess I will continue to use it for blogging even if I can’t get the hang of it for my screenwriting. What it means is that my blogs will always go on endlessly, because I can talk for hours without stopping. Just kidding. No I’m not. Anyway, its accuracy is good enough for me to recommend it. Maybe one day I’ll even look at the manual and learn all about all the cool stuff I can do with this program.
